When you are doing a total interior renovation on an occupied apartment home how do you overcome resident objections in moving to a newly renovated home? One manager, Sandy Coble, Parkwood Villa Apartments in Nashville TN (Freeman Webb Management) came up with a brilliant plan. His residents were on limited incomes and objected to the expense and inconvenience in changing addresses, utility hook ups plus the actual move. Sandy outfitted two apartments on site as fully furnished corporate suites, hired a moving company to pack up the resident’s belongings and move them into a lockable “POD” in the parking lot.
The residents moved into the corporate apartment for just one week then the moving company moved all of their belongings back into their own, newly renovated apartment home. No headaches for the residents and no lost rent for the apartment community.
One of the resident’s favorite features of their fresh new homes is the kitchen!
